CARPOOLING RULES

All Carpooling applications must be made at the FM Assist .

  • Register at FM Assist, in Level 2 Mathews Building F23 at no charge.
  • Registration is valid for 1 calendar year.
  • A UNSW hologram sticker will be placed on your Student Card.
  • Parking is available in both the Barker Street (Level 5 and above) and Botany Street (Level 5b and above) high rise car-parks.
  • Payment is via the pay and display machines in the above car-parks.
  • Parking is only permitted on the levels signposted as pay and display.
  • The more passengers you have in your vehicle the cheaper it will be.
  • The minimum pay and display charge is $4.00 for 5 hours and the cost pro-rata up to $8.00 for 12 hours. For Example:

    4 Carpooler's in a Vehicle =

    $1.00 each for 5 hours
    $1.40 each for 6 hours
    $1.60 each for 8 hours
    $2.00 each for 12 hours

  • If the casual parking is closed you must have a minimum of three people in the car who are registered to carpool and you must present the student cards with UNSW holograms to the gate person. You will then be given permission to enter the campus and proceed to the paid parking.
  • When the casual parking is closed and you have three people in the vehicle who are not all registered as carpooling participants you will not be entitled to enter the campus.
  • Parking infringements are issued at UNSW.
  • Permission to park is no guarantee of space.
