Q – How do I get a parking permit?
A – Go to the FM Assist with the vehicle registration papers and staff number and the staff at FM Assist will advise which is the most economical and suitable parking permit for your requirements.
Q- Can casual staff apply for parking?
A- Casual staff members, who are not students, can apply for parking after verification of employment from the administrative officer in your Faculty/ School/ Dept.

STUDENTS
Q- Can a student purchase a parking permit?
A- After hours permits are available and valid from 3.30pm to 7.30am Monday to Friday. Permits are purchased at the FM Assist.
Q - Where do I park during the day?
A – All day casual parking is available from Gate 14 Barker St and Gate 11 Botany St on the top floors of the multi-storey car parks. This may not be available due to parking demands and a sign will be at the Gate entrance stating - CASUAL PARKING CLOSED.
**Short term paid 2P parking is available from most entrance gates.
Q – If I am also a staff member how do I purchase a permit?
A – Students must be employed at UNSW more than 20 hours a week to be eligible to purchase a permit.
Q – I am a PhD student am I eligible to purchase a permit?
A – Yes 24/7 parking permits are sold to PhD students either per semester or yearly. A student card and vehicle registration papers are required to be presented to the FM Assist.
BUILDING & REPAIR CONTRACTORS
Q – Can I purchase a permit?
A – Yes on presentation of a UNSW Induction card and registration papers daily/weekly/yearly permits may be purchased from the FM Assist.
**Parking is free on weekends and public holidays**

STAFF
Q. How do I get a Staff ID card?
A. Application forms are available on the web here.
The form needs to be completed and signed by an authorised officer with financial delegation.
Q. How do I access buildings/rooms/labs?
A. Apply to your Administrative Officer and they will send an email to the FM Assist at id.cards@unsw.edu.au to authorised access. You do not need to go to the FM Assist it will happen automatically within 24/48 hours.
Q. How do I borrow books from the library.
A. The library barcode is on the staff card for all UNSW employees, external staff apply directly to the library
Q. How do I get access to the Centrally Allocated Teaching Space (CATS) lecterns.
A. All staff have access to CATS lecterns.
STUDENT
Q. Am I able to get my Student ID card sent to me?
A. Yes, email the FM Assist at id.cards@unsw.edu.au with your name, student number and a return address.
1. We will send a card without a photo
2. If you want a photo on the card, you will need to attach a passport style photo in a jpg format, to the email. We also require verification of the photo and your identification by a Justice of the Peace as a hard copy.
Q. How do I replace a lost Student ID card?
A. FM Assist can provide you with a replacement card. On presentation of photo identification (Australian drivers licence, NSW Identification card or passport) and on payment of a fee a new card will be issued.
IT SERVICES
Q. Can I pay for my UDUS account at the FM Assist?
A. No. You will need to contact the ITS Servicedesk. For more information go to http://www.its.unsw.edu.au.
Q. Does the FM Assist supply my UNIPASS?
A. Yes, we provide a UNIPASS to both students & staff. Please provide your student or staff card for identification.
Q. If my UNIPASS isn’t working or I have been locked out of my account what do I do?
A. Go to the IT help desk located on the second floor in the main library; they are able to assist you with any problems related to your UNIPASS access.
